Well according to some really smart economists it is made up of 26 counties spread across north-central Kentucky and southern Indiana.  It includes two metropolitan areas, 196 cities, towns and villages, 863 distinct neighborhoods, with 37,314 businesses, 31 institutions of higher education, 3,451 community organizations and 1 million-563 thousand-404 amazing individuals. 

 According to the experts, if we work together, we can have a competitive edge in the global economy.  In fact, they are so sure of it, that they granted dollars to help create this portal and to support a number of other projects that focused on innovation and regionalism.
